In 1956, in the small village of Schwarzenberg nestled in Austria's Bregenzerwald valley, the Metzler family started making wire hangers. Not because the world needed another commodity product — but because they believed even the simplest tools deserve to be made right.

Nearly seven decades later, that conviction has turned Mevo Metzler GmbH into Europe's leading manufacturer of wire hangers, operating the most modern hanger production facility on the planet. From three locations across Vorarlberg, the company produces 1.7 million hangers every day — 360 million a year — each one made from 100% recycled steel and built to a standard that the rest of the industry simply doesn't match.

When Hans Metzler handed the reins to his three sons — Clemens, Sebastian, and Adrian — in 2022, the family didn't just inherit a business. They inherited a belief: that precision manufacturing matters, even when the product is something most people never think twice about.

Mevo Metzler looked at the American market — 3.5 billion hangers in circulation compared to Europe's 500 million — and saw something bigger than a sales opportunity. They saw an industry that deserved better.
